  5. This file describes how to use Launchpad 95.

  21. Launchpad 95 lets you launch applications at the click of a button.
  22.  
  23. The object menu of the objects in the Launchpad can be accessed
  24. by right clicking on the button representing the object.
  25.  
  26. PROPERTIES:

  30. Select Properties option from the Launchpad object menu to display 
  31. the properties dialog box. 
  32.  
  33. Folder Association:
  34.  
  35. Folder association can be performed in two different ways.
  36.  
  37. 1. Drag and drop a folder into the launchpad for associating that
  38. folder with the launchpad.
  39.  
  40. 2. Right click on the launchpad to display the launchpad menu. Select
  41. Properties menu option to display the properties dialog box.
  42. The properties dialog box displays all the folders on the desktop 
  43. including the subfolders within these folders as a tree. Select
  44. a folder or subfolder to associate with the launchpad. When
  45. you close the dialog box the launchpad would display all the 
  46. objects within the associated folder in the launchpad.

  48. Alignment:
  49.  
  50. Launchpad can be aligned on any one of the four sides of the desktop.
  51. The launchpad can be aligned either by selecting the side
  52. from the object menu or selecting the side in the properties
  53. dialog box. 
  54.  
  55. Autohide Attribute:
  56.  
  57. You can set the the Autohide attribute of the launchpad. When this
  58. attribute is set the launchpad is hidden on the side of the display
  59. it was when you set this attribute. To see the launchpad move the 
  60. mouse cursor to that side where the launchpad is hidden.

  62. Number of characters in name:
  63.  
  64. You can specify the number of characters of the longname you want to 
  65. be displayed in the button. The number of characters can range from 
  66. 0 to 128.

  68. SCROLLING:
  69. =========

  71. If the number of objects in the associated folder exceed the
  72. predefined width or height scroll bars appear so that you can 
  73. scroll to view the rest of the buttons. 
  74. If the launchpad is left or right aligned, a horizontal scroll bar 
  75. is shown and you can scroll only horizontally.
  76. If the launchpad is top or bottom aligned, a vertical scroll bar 
  77. is shown and you can scroll only vertically.

  79. SIZING:

  82. You can size the launchpad to suit your liking. Accordingly, the number
  83. of buttons shown in the launchpad increases or decreases.

  85. TOOLTIPS:

  88. The Long Name of an object in the Launchpad is displayed as a tooltip.
  89. To view the tooltip of an object click on the launchpad to make it 
  90. active and move the mouse pointer on to the button representing the 
  91. object.

  93. Tooltips provide an easy mechanism to find out what button represents
  94. what object until you are familiar with the icons in the buttons.

  96. Another way to get to know the buttons is to have the Name displayed
  97. in the buttons. But this may result in occupying a significant portion
  98. of the desktop depending on the number of buttons in the Launchpad.

  100. FEATURES TO BE ADDED IN THE NEXT VERSION:

  102.     The next version is in the works now. Some of the features you may
  103.     see in the next version are:
  104.     * Your suggestions 
  105.     * Multiple folder associations
  106.     * Start Menu Button of the Windows 95 Task Bar
  107.     * Active Windows List
  108.     * Active process list with Process control - terminate etc.
  109.     * Ability to explore folders in the launchpad either as menus 
  110.       or as list views/icon views easily.
